Dear host family,
My name is Ella and I will be 18 in September. In May I graduated from school and now want to widen my horizons outside my home country: gain new experiences and collect meaningful memories. I live in a small town in Saxony called Mügeln with my parents and my dog.
I am a big animal lover, spending most of my free time in the stables with my family's two horses. I've been riding for more than 10 years now. Riding is a great passion of mine, somehting I share with my mother, and I am in the stables most days to exercise and care for them. Other ways I exercise regularly include wild swimming, which I particularly enjoy in the summer. Another hobby I enjoy is playing the transverse flute, which I have done for 12 years. I even used to play it in a youth orchestra. I have also taught myself to play the piano on my grandmother's beautiful grand piano in my house.
I have experience working with and taking care of children and of course keeping them busy. For more tha 3 years I've babysat my neighbours 2 children, one 4 years old and the other 1. I played with them inside and outside, but I particularly love the moments of 'primetime', when he is about to go to bed and we read together. Through them, I have learnt how enriching and fun it can be to work with children. To further my skills with children, I also did an internship at a primary school. I really enjoed seeing so many kids with incredile unique minds and personalities.
I am not yet entirely sure what my plans are for the future, but I know I want to gain new experiences outside of Mügeln and Germany. This past summer I have really enjoyed travelling and am excited about the opportunity to have more similar experiences as an Au Pair, whilst learning something new and exciting. I'm really looking forward to connecting an experience abroad with living in a family and looking after children too. I have even started to learn Swedish to best prepare myself for this experience.
