Au pair Emma in Germany
Dear host family,

Available in June .

My name is Emma and I am 18 years old and will be 19 in February. I live in Trier in Germany near Luxembourg. I have a large family with three siblings: an elder sister Lea (24), a little brother Sam (13) and a little sister Alma (11). I also have six younger cousins and four chickens.

I am currently in year 13 and will be writing my A-levels in geography, German and biology in January. In addition to school, which takes up a lot of my time at the moment, I take a dancing class with my friends, which I really enjoy. I also like to do sports in my free time and often go running or swimming with a good friend. I like to cycle to school in all weathers. I also did rowing as a competitive sport for four years and played the violin for a total of six years. In addition to my love of sport, I enjoy cooking and baking just as much. So I often meet up with my grandma or friends to bake and cook. I also enjoy reading and going out for walks in the nature. I work in a hotel and help to prepare breakfast. I am able to work concentrated and organised even under stress.

I would like to do an au pair year with you, as I enjoy looking after children and can imagine working with children later on. I have already done an internship in a primary school and often help out in the children's group of my father's Protestant church. I also look after my little cousins and neighbours' children at numerous family gatherings. We often play together or I read stories to the children. My babysitting job includes eating dinner together and looking after the children after bedtime.

I would like to do my au pair year in Sweden, as I was already fascinated by Scandinavia and Sweden in particular as a child. My family and I have regularly been going to Småland near Vetlanda during the summer holidays. We have a small holiday house in the village of Stenberga, which we have been renovating ever since and have grown very fond of. As I have been planning to do an au pair year after my school graduation for a while, I have been learning Swedish with great pleasure for a good year now. However, I only have Swedish every fortnight and have not been able to study Swedish as intensively as I would have liked due to my A-level preparations, so I would like to further improve and expand my language skills.

Therefore, an au pair offers me many options to work with children as well as to improve my Swedish language skills and to have new experiences abroad.
I would be very happy to get to know you and become a part of your family.

Best wishes

Emma
